Good Web Page Design

Creating a good web page design is an everyday task for a web designer but for the rest of the web community this task is a head-ache and a huge problem, unless of-course you decide to use one of the many templates available on-line which in turn help you design a web page that is not so good and the least creative.

On line there are many tutorials that assist you to design a good web page from scratch but the choice is very hard, as a matter of fact you probably don't even need one of those, instead all you need is a good sense of design and an easy to use HTML editor in the likes of Dream Weaver and someone to guide you through the basics.

Simplicity is the key to a good web design for your web page because a web page that is simple is clean, easy to navigate through, and convenient for the human eye. Also for the background it is best to use a light colour and on it a dark text, preferably black text on a white background.

Usage of images should be minimized to just as many as you really need, as too many images in the wrong places will cause the page to load slowly and make it harder for your visitor to find your content.

Make your paragraphs short and your sentences straight to the point. Remove anything that you already said before, and make sure that what you are writing is your own and is also true.

I am a web designer and internet marketer who is ready to share the many things I've worked so hard to learn. Why do I teach this for free? Because I think that nobody should have to pay in order to learn how to design a website. This is my message and here is my website please visit and learn all you need.

Web Page Design Software

Web page design software is software applications that help users create a Web site. Web design software applications include Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) editors, image editors and applications used to create Web animations.

HTML editors allow designers to code Web pages without the knowledge of HTML. Some of these software applications have wizards, which make creation of Web sites possible for even novice users. The most popular and powerful HTML editors are Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia DreamWeaver. Free HTML editors are also available and can be downloaded from various Internet sites.

Image editing software applications allow a Web designer to create the graphics for a Web site. Popular image editing software applications include Adobe PhotoShop and Macromedia Fireworks. These software applications do require some training before a new user can use them effectively.

Web animation software applications such as Macromedia Flash allow an animator to create animations for the Internet. These animations are light and load quickly. However, they require a browser plugin to be installed before they can be viewed.

While selecting Web design software it is important to keep a few things in mind. Firstly, the software should support the Operating System. Some software packages are designed for Apple Mac computers and may not be compatible with Microsoft Windows operating system and vice versa. The second step would be to check the quality of Web pages already designed using the software. The software should also have features for checking spellings and broken or missing links on the Web pages. Some software applications also help in publishing the completed Web design on the Internet.

Due to ease of use of and the reduction of the work involved in creating a design, Web design software applications have become hugely popular.

Best Web Page Design

There is a lot of debate when it concerns the best web page design. There are those that think the best business web page design is one filled with all kinds of graphics and data while others will advocate a more sleek and streamlined web page.

My thoughts on this will differ depending on the purpose of the web page. I my opinion the best web page design is a design that will accomplish the page's goal with the least amount cost and time to develop.

If your purpose is to design a web page that is a profile type web page that will be used primarily as an informational web page for friends and family then the best web page design is something that allows you to customize the text and layout of the web page. You will also want to put photos on your web page. This type of web page design can be accomplished with just about any type of web page design program.

Now let's say you want to build a web page that is going to sell a number of different products or services. The best web page design in this circumstance is generally to design a web page with multiple images and scripts. This type of web page design is done with a more advanced web page design program and requires quite a bit of experience.

For those of us who market products as an affiliate the are many approaches to use, figuring out the best web page design can be a bit tricky. One way to accomplish your goal is to create a review web page. This type of web page can be built with many different type of web page design programs. I have found the best web page design program for this purpose is a step by step, point and click web page design program.

This type of web page design program can cut your time in half and keep your cost for each web page down to a minimum. For my money this is the best web page design and if your are inexperience a step by step program will help you get up and running quickly.

As you can see figuring out which is the best web page design really depends on the type of page and what the purpose of the page is.

5 Easy Web Page Design Tips

Do you want to design your first ever website but you want to learn the best practices about it? There are certain web page design tips to guide you. And this article will show you at least five of the most important tips. This will help you to avoid some of the common web design mistakes.

So let us get started with your own quality web design.

1. Think of a color scheme and stick with it.

The usual mistake of many new web designers is that they put so many colors on their design that what they come up with is a virtual color palette that you cannot pinpoint what exactly is the color scheme being used. Early on with your planning stage, come up with at least three color schemes. Some of the common are: blue and white; red, yellow and white; and blue, orange and white.

As you can see white is a consistent color in web design, mainly because it is the preferred color for easy reading.

2. Will your website load correctly and fast?

This has something to do more with the bandwidth usage when people view your website. If your site takes like forever to load, then probably it is either composed of large file sizes or your hosting account is not doing its task in delivering the web pages properly. Test your site first again and again before you officially launch it to the public.

3. Design an easy to follow site navigation.

The common way to present a navigational system on your website is through links to the different pages that are placed on the header section. Actually with usability tests, most web users would automatically look at the header when they want to find other web pages. Therefore unless you want to be maverick with your website, one of the best web page design tips is to include navigation links on the header.

4. Make your links open on a new tab or window.

This is a good practice to do on your web design. When people click on a link on your site and that link points to another website, it would open on either a new tab or a new window. This way your website will still be visible in case the viewer would want to go back to it. Otherwise they would have to type in the URL of your site once again.

5. Do not use too much graphics.

Find a good balance out of using graphics on your website, because if not then it will look and feel very cluttered. There is also a downside to using too much images on your site and that is it will take more bandwidth to load the whole web pages. So limit the number of images and other graphics so you will have a better looking and faster loading website. This will provide better user experience.

These are just some of the web page design tips that you can use on your own website project. Just keep in mind that simplicity is often the key to a great design and also a smooth and intuitive navigation so people can easily find what they are looking for on your site.

Web Page Design

Today I'd like to speak to those of you out there who are just getting started with websites and are looking for software for webpage design. It can be a daunting task. There are so many versions on the market that vary in complexity from extremely technical to basic WYSIWYG-type software (i.e. What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get, meaning it's more of a drag-and-drop product requiring very little to no programming knowledge).

Newbies, as we're called when we are just breaking into this game, usually don't know much if any of the basic computer code called HTML, (or Hyper Text Markup Language). And just to be correct, HTML is really not a code at all, it's a "markup language" and that's as techie as I'm going to get today! Software for webpage design doesn't have to be scary.

You will no doubt either want to learn a little HTML along the way or just absorb it without realizing it. It's handy to know the basics at certain times when you want to alter an image or a page, but it's certainly not necessary at this time. Just know that's what it's called and leave it at that. It's likely going to look like gibberish to you when you first start out, but you'll be amazed how quickly you will begin to pick it up as you go along. This is especially true if you have a good instructor who will be patient and take the time to start from the beginning as he teaches you how to use software for webpage design.

You may want to consider starting out at a place where you don't even have to worry about software for webpage design at all. Two websites come to mind that fit this description. One is Squidoo.com and the other is Weebly.com. Both use WYSIWYG editors and both are very easy to learn to use. Both also have excellent tutorials and help sections. You can create websites in pretty quick fashion at both locations. Let's talk about Squidoo first.

Squidoo lets you create what they call "lenses" that become your bone fide website. It will have its own domain name of your choosing, but the URL will also contain the name "squidoo" in it also. Some people are turned off by this, but it's all for free and is extremely simple to learn to use. These two characteristics in my mind make it a no-brainer, especially for us newbies over sites requiring you to learn to use software for webpage design. You choose and pre-stage what squidoo calls "modules" on the side of the webpage in whatever vertical order you want and then go to the middle of the page and fill them in. Some are text modules, which you type into just like a word processor and others are for things like uploading images or graphics supplied on the site. In one afternoon you can master webpage building at squidoo. It's even kind of fun.

Weebly is also free, but the software for webpage design (also a WYSIWYG type of editor) is quite different from squidoo. It's actually a little more advanced, in my opinion, and I don't mean that in a techie way. You just have more options. You can even choose a web template to design your site around, which can look downright professional. Where you sort of pre-build the layout in squidoo, at weebly you build as you go, dragging in modules similar to squidoo, then adding content. You not only can add images and graphics but also audio and YouTube footage. It's a little quirky to start in that the modules tend to jump on the page as you drag them down, but you get used to it. One discovery I made quite by accident was that I completely built a site without a template. Looking a little bland, I decided to check out the array of templates weebly offers. I clicked on the button and a string of thumbnail templates appeared at the top of the page. Not really knowing what I was doing, I just rolled my cursor over the first one and in a split second it appeared on my webpage in full scale, rearranging the page slightly to fit in all my content. It was suddenly beautiful, I thought, looking at my creation. It looked like a real designer had done it with some of that fancy software for webpage design. I kept trying other templates in this fashion until I found the one I wanted and clicked to select it. Done!

There are other WYSIWYG (I pronounce it wizzie-wig just for fun) websites out there, but for pure ease of use starting out, I would stay away from trying to learn to use more difficult software for webpage design and go with one of these until you gain more confidence.

Web Page Design

Web page design involves the design of pages that are published on the World Wide Web. Web page design includes not only the aesthetics aspects but also includes navigational and user interface aspects of design. Web pages must be designed keeping in mind the goals of the organization for whom the site is being designed. The process of Web page design begins by gathering all the information, understanding the objectives to be achieved and determining the target audience. The type of browsers visitors use, the kind of Internet connections used to visit your site and the computers used are other important design factors. A site designed for broadband users can be graphics intensive compared to a site designed for dial-up users who typically use a slower Internet connection.

Once the design specifications have been decided, it is best to start planning the navigation structure and content of the Web pages. The process of Web design often involves creation of a mockup, which provides an idea of the layout of the Web page. Once the mockup is finalized the graphics are created and the coding of the Web page can be done using a mark up language such as hypertext markup language, or HTML.

HTML allows creation of Web pages that can be viewed using a Web browser. HTML allows the precise placement of text and images and enables navigation through the use of hyperlinks. Several WYSIWYG (What you see if what you get) HMTL editors are available to help create Web pages. Using these HTML editors, a designer can create Web pages without having to learn actual html coding. Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia DreamWeaver are two of the most popular and powerful HTML editors.

Designers use image editing software applications to create the graphics for a Web site. Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks are two of the most popular image editing applications.

Web Page Design Templates

Web page design templates come in all shapes and sizes, you can buy them one at a time or in large groups, you can even find free web page design templates on the internet. Whatever your reason, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

First and foremost, you must choose web page design templates that looks professional, nothing will doom your page more than to use a horrible looking template. Another thing to consider is this, if the web page template looks bad then chances are you will have issues when you try and use it.

One of the next things we need to consider is, how easy is it to manipulate. Depending on the type of HTML editor you are using the web page design templates you are trying to use could be very easy to work with or downright impossible. If you have a HTML editor like Dreamweaver or Design Dashboard and you know how to use them then you shouldn't have any problems with your web page design templates.

Before I go on lets talk about HTML editors, If you are new to web page design then I would highly recommend you start out with an HTML editor that provides step by step process to build your web page. The reason for this is quite simple, build a web page from scratch can be quite a daunting task, with a software program that walks you through the process step by step you will be able to spend more time on how your page looks instead of trying to fix HTML code.

For those that are more experienced building web pages then you already have the HTML editor that works for you and you're comfortable with. I wont reveal which ones I use in this article but I do have 3 different programs I use. One I use to create pages from scratch, one I use to fix web pages that are messed up and the third one I use is one of the step by step software programs I spoke of earlier, that I use for pages that are not overly involved, it allows me to take web page design templates and turn them into a professional looking web page in just a couple hours, it's a great time saver.

Back to web page design templates, consider the purpose for the templates before you jump on the internet and buy...are you using it for a Google AdSense page, or is it for a product or service you are selling, maybe it's just a simple home page for you and your family, whatever make sure you find the proper web page design templates to fit your needs.

For instance, if you are building Google AdSense pages then ones you see being promoted by the clan of internet marketers have more than likely been used by several thousand people already. So start you search a little bit deeper in the search pages to find web page design templates that others aren't using.

If you're building an entire web site to sell your product or service then you may want to have a professional build you a couple of web page design templates than you can modify easily. They are not to expensive and by going this route you almost certainly be guaranteed that your template is unique.

What decide when searching for you web page design templates make sure they are professional looking, will do what you want them to do and that you can easily work with them.

Not All Web Page Design Software is Easy to Use

When making a decision on buying web page design software, you know that evaluating different packages can take forever. Some people spend months or even years trying to decide on one package that fits all their needs and their budget, too. Others choose one piece of software and stick with it, simply because that is all they know and they are too frightened to try another. You do need to take your time when choosing software, but by reading reviews and talking to other web page designers, you should be able to make a decision fairly quickly.

Of course not all web page design software works in the same way. Some packages are more appropriate for beginners and have limited functionality. Other pieces of software are so advanced that only a Ph.D. can use them. The trick is to find one piece of software that will be easy to use when it is new, but also advanced enough that you can continue learning and growing with it. You don't want to be limited by your software!

One piece of software that is liked by experts and those new to computers is XSitePro. It has incredible functionality, yet is easy for newbies. It is more than just a web page design tool. It allows you to create and manage large web sites with multiple pages, advertising, content management, and blogs. It is a web page design software that most experts agree is appropriate for users of all levels. When delving into the Internet and building your own website, either for the first time or if it isn't your first site, make sure you have a piece of software that works for you, and not against you!

Web Page Design Ideas - How to Use Graphics Creatively

First, a caution: don't overload your website with flashing images, loads of different fonts (or font sizes or font colors) and text swooping in from all sides. Keep your web site design simple, and never lose sight of what you want your visitors to do when they arrive.

With that said, images can quickly spruce up an unappealing website. This is true even if you do nothing more than add an image to your header and one to footer, and another to break up the monotony of your text. But the proper use of graphics can add even more appeal to your pages. Here are some quick web page design ideas focusing on graphics:

1. Swap Images - when your cursor passes over one web object, such as a button, it triggers the swapping of another graphic. For example, if I pass my cursor over a button that says Spain, when the current graphic is Canada, then a Spain graphic would replace the Canada graphic as long as my cursor remains over the Spain button. This is done using a simple JavaScript, and can be quite powerful when used properly.

2. Rollovers - are just another form of a swap image. In this case, a primary image changes to a secondary image when the cursor passes over the image link. Generally, when the cursor moves off the image, it reverts back to the primary image. Using our previous example, if your cursor passes over a blue Spain image button, it changes to a red button with a different Spain image. Again, this is accomplished with a simple JavaScript. Rollovers add a nice touch as long as you don't overdo them or create a page that takes forever to load.

3. Background Images - with a little imagination you can frame your page with images. All you have to do is add columns or rows or a combination of the two to your main table and fill them with appropriate background images. For example, if your web site is about organic gardening, you might add a left-hand column and a bottom row to your table. In the bottom row, you can use a bean plant as the background image, having it begin to grow vertically at the left corner, where the left-hand column's background image is a continuation of the plant growing up the side of the web page.

4. White Space - often referred to as negative space, is simply the open space between the graphic elements and text elements on your website. This includes the space between words and paragraphs, around images, etc. The reason it's important to mention here is simple: white space not only gives your web pages a cleaner look, it makes the experience of reading the content much easier on the eyes. Don't overlook this important element of web page design.

There's no question we'd all like to have a great looking website, and hopefully these web page design ideas have been helpful. However, the most important thing to remember with good web site design is this: less is better. Don't overdo your graphics. Add them to your website layout as complementary elements, not as attention grabbers. A little restraint goes a long way.

Creating a good web page design is an everyday task for a web designer but for the rest of the web community this task is a head-ache and a huge problem, unless of-course you decide to use one of the many templates available on-line which in turn help you design a web page that is not so good and the least creative.

So, the choice is yours. The main point is to test and get something you're comfortable using and create your new website.

The perfect place to be looking for information, items, products, and services would be the web. There are practically a lot of various products that you can find in the web, so much so that putting a product in the web has become a necessity already. If businesses and services would want people to patronize their products, then they should be able to give everybody limitless access to their products through the web.

Most people are very keen in details about their business, company, and service that they have become very particular with advertising specifications. It is due to this line of thinking that these people would rather design their pages themselves than creating customized ones over the web. However, it is an important consideration to be able to find cheap web page design software to minimize initial costs for starting out a business. This is not difficult though, because there is a lot of cheap software that are available in the web.

A cheap web page design software is basically a relatively affordable software used for web page design applications and maintenance. Although most of the software is quiet expensive, there are some that have the basic features for minimal costs and minimal future outlay for upgrades. For businesses that are just starting out, web page design software that contains the basic requirements for creating a web site would be economically sufficient. The most important thing is to enable people to access your products at any time of the day through your website.

Successful Dental Web Sites - A Look at Visitor Usability in Dental Web Page Design

The usability of dental web sites can be one of the most complex yet most important aspects of a successful dental web page design. You can offer the best dental services in the world at no cost, but if online visitors can't get your site to work well enough to find what they need, it isn't going to help. Even someone brand new to your site needs to be able to find everything quickly and easily so they don't have to jump through hoops to find the information they need.

Speed

If a dental web page design takes too much time to load, online visitors will click the back button to look for other dental web sites that load faster. For those with dial-up and slow connections, this can cause their browser/computer to crash. Patients who experience this will likely stay away from your site completely.

While the placement of code in the site can improve its load time, the contents included in your online practice will also have an impact on the required load time. Large flash files, detailed images, and audio all increase the time needed for a computer to load your site. This doesn't mean you can't have any of these components, you just need to use them wisely.

Navigation

Dental web sites, particularly those with large amounts of content, need to have easy to use navigation. Buttons in an uncommon place may look nice in your design, but consider the fact that this will cause visitors to have to search for what they need. Being too large or too close together may also cause issues for those attempting to navigate your dental web page design. Finally, consider the color of the buttons or text. It should fit in with the color scheme, but stand out enough so that visitors can find and read them easily. You can wander away from tradition, but keep these things in mind as you work with your designer.

Clarity And Brevity

Online visitors rarely read. Most of them skim over the content, reading the first line and then picking up tidbits that standout from there. Many stop reading before they reach the end of the content. If you have an important link you want visitors to find, try to keep it above the fold or mid-point of the page. You will also find that making the link stand out using color and font will help significantly as well.

The location of content on your page influences the success of dental web sites. After several studies that focused on tracking the eye movement of site visitors, experts found that a majority of clients notice the upper left-hand quadrant most often. The farther away from that point, the less noticeable items became.

Usability is as much about dental web page design as it is about user behavior. Only when dental web sites find the ideal balance between comfortable usability and the need to stand out from competitors will a website become truly successful.

Web Page Design Software - Tips On Selecting The Most Effective, And Best Value

Web Page Design Software - How do you uncover the mysteries of HTML, without becoming a computer nerd?!

Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the language of the World Wide Web and it's the secret key to making your own web site. While it's possible to do HTML in a text editor like Notepad, doing so is time consuming, tedious and frustrating, as you end up tweaking things left and right trying to make them all fit.

Professional Web Page Design Software tries to put all of the hand coding of HTML behind a slick and shiny interface, with tools for cascading style sheets, conditional formatting, interactive Javascript roll-overs and integration of flash and multimedia. In their efforts to compete with one another, the people who write and sell professional web design software have forgotten that most of the people who do this are small business owners and really don't need 95% of what their expensive software can do.

What you really need in web page design software is something that lets you see what your web page is going to look like as you compose it, has tools for adding scripting and interactivity and allows you to make the important decisions without bogging you down in details or constraining your choices.

Recently there have been some excellent advances to the conundrum of "Enough to get the job done, but doesn't require a degree from MIT to use" in the field of web page design software. One I recommend walks you through a 6 step process to making your web site, with each step taking 20 to 30 minutes. It gives plenty of options and teaches you the why's behind the options it has to make your web site work better as a revenue generating tool.
