Good Web Page Design

Creating a good web page design is an everyday task for a web designer but for the rest of the web community this task is a head-ache and a huge problem, unless of-course you decide to use one of the many templates available on-line which in turn help you design a web page that is not so good and the least creative.

On line there are many tutorials that assist you to design a good web page from scratch but the choice is very hard, as a matter of fact you probably don't even need one of those, instead all you need is a good sense of design and an easy to use HTML editor in the likes of Dream Weaver and someone to guide you through the basics.

Simplicity is the key to a good web design for your web page because a web page that is simple is clean, easy to navigate through, and convenient for the human eye. Also for the background it is best to use a light colour and on it a dark text, preferably black text on a white background.

Usage of images should be minimized to just as many as you really need, as too many images in the wrong places will cause the page to load slowly and make it harder for your visitor to find your content.

Make your paragraphs short and your sentences straight to the point. Remove anything that you already said before, and make sure that what you are writing is your own and is also true.

I am a web designer and internet marketer who is ready to share the many things I've worked so hard to learn. Why do I teach this for free? Because I think that nobody should have to pay in order to learn how to design a website. This is my message and here is my website please visit and learn all you need.

Web Page Design Software

Web page design software is software applications that help users create a Web site. Web design software applications include Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) editors, image editors and applications used to create Web animations.

HTML editors allow designers to code Web pages without the knowledge of HTML. Some of these software applications have wizards, which make creation of Web sites possible for even novice users. The most popular and powerful HTML editors are Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia DreamWeaver. Free HTML editors are also available and can be downloaded from various Internet sites.

Image editing software applications allow a Web designer to create the graphics for a Web site. Popular image editing software applications include Adobe PhotoShop and Macromedia Fireworks. These software applications do require some training before a new user can use them effectively.

Web animation software applications such as Macromedia Flash allow an animator to create animations for the Internet. These animations are light and load quickly. However, they require a browser plugin to be installed before they can be viewed.

While selecting Web design software it is important to keep a few things in mind. Firstly, the software should support the Operating System. Some software packages are designed for Apple Mac computers and may not be compatible with Microsoft Windows operating system and vice versa. The second step would be to check the quality of Web pages already designed using the software. The software should also have features for checking spellings and broken or missing links on the Web pages. Some software applications also help in publishing the completed Web design on the Internet.

Due to ease of use of and the reduction of the work involved in creating a design, Web design software applications have become hugely popular.

Best Web Page Design

There is a lot of debate when it concerns the best web page design. There are those that think the best business web page design is one filled with all kinds of graphics and data while others will advocate a more sleek and streamlined web page.

My thoughts on this will differ depending on the purpose of the web page. I my opinion the best web page design is a design that will accomplish the page's goal with the least amount cost and time to develop.

If your purpose is to design a web page that is a profile type web page that will be used primarily as an informational web page for friends and family then the best web page design is something that allows you to customize the text and layout of the web page. You will also want to put photos on your web page. This type of web page design can be accomplished with just about any type of web page design program.

Now let's say you want to build a web page that is going to sell a number of different products or services. The best web page design in this circumstance is generally to design a web page with multiple images and scripts. This type of web page design is done with a more advanced web page design program and requires quite a bit of experience.

For those of us who market products as an affiliate the are many approaches to use, figuring out the best web page design can be a bit tricky. One way to accomplish your goal is to create a review web page. This type of web page can be built with many different type of web page design programs. I have found the best web page design program for this purpose is a step by step, point and click web page design program.

This type of web page design program can cut your time in half and keep your cost for each web page down to a minimum. For my money this is the best web page design and if your are inexperience a step by step program will help you get up and running quickly.

As you can see figuring out which is the best web page design really depends on the type of page and what the purpose of the page is.

5 Easy Web Page Design Tips

Do you want to design your first ever website but you want to learn the best practices about it? There are certain web page design tips to guide you. And this article will show you at least five of the most important tips. This will help you to avoid some of the common web design mistakes.

So let us get started with your own quality web design.

1. Think of a color scheme and stick with it.

The usual mistake of many new web designers is that they put so many colors on their design that what they come up with is a virtual color palette that you cannot pinpoint what exactly is the color scheme being used. Early on with your planning stage, come up with at least three color schemes. Some of the common are: blue and white; red, yellow and white; and blue, orange and white.

As you can see white is a consistent color in web design, mainly because it is the preferred color for easy reading.

2. Will your website load correctly and fast?

This has something to do more with the bandwidth usage when people view your website. If your site takes like forever to load, then probably it is either composed of large file sizes or your hosting account is not doing its task in delivering the web pages properly. Test your site first again and again before you officially launch it to the public.

3. Design an easy to follow site navigation.

The common way to present a navigational system on your website is through links to the different pages that are placed on the header section. Actually with usability tests, most web users would automatically look at the header when they want to find other web pages. Therefore unless you want to be maverick with your website, one of the best web page design tips is to include navigation links on the header.

4. Make your links open on a new tab or window.

This is a good practice to do on your web design. When people click on a link on your site and that link points to another website, it would open on either a new tab or a new window. This way your website will still be visible in case the viewer would want to go back to it. Otherwise they would have to type in the URL of your site once again.

5. Do not use too much graphics.

Find a good balance out of using graphics on your website, because if not then it will look and feel very cluttered. There is also a downside to using too much images on your site and that is it will take more bandwidth to load the whole web pages. So limit the number of images and other graphics so you will have a better looking and faster loading website. This will provide better user experience.

These are just some of the web page design tips that you can use on your own website project. Just keep in mind that simplicity is often the key to a great design and also a smooth and intuitive navigation so people can easily find what they are looking for on your site.

Web Page Design

Today I'd like to speak to those of you out there who are just getting started with websites and are looking for software for webpage design. It can be a daunting task. There are so many versions on the market that vary in complexity from extremely technical to basic WYSIWYG-type software (i.e. What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get, meaning it's more of a drag-and-drop product requiring very little to no programming knowledge).

Newbies, as we're called when we are just breaking into this game, usually don't know much if any of the basic computer code called HTML, (or Hyper Text Markup Language). And just to be correct, HTML is really not a code at all, it's a "markup language" and that's as techie as I'm going to get today! Software for webpage design doesn't have to be scary.

You will no doubt either want to learn a little HTML along the way or just absorb it without realizing it. It's handy to know the basics at certain times when you want to alter an image or a page, but it's certainly not necessary at this time. Just know that's what it's called and leave it at that. It's likely going to look like gibberish to you when you first start out, but you'll be amazed how quickly you will begin to pick it up as you go along. This is especially true if you have a good instructor who will be patient and take the time to start from the beginning as he teaches you how to use software for webpage design.

You may want to consider starting out at a place where you don't even have to worry about software for webpage design at all. Two websites come to mind that fit this description. One is and the other is Both use WYSIWYG editors and both are very easy to learn to use. Both also have excellent tutorials and help sections. You can create websites in pretty quick fashion at both locations. Let's talk about Squidoo first.

Squidoo lets you create what they call "lenses" that become your bone fide website. It will have its own domain name of your choosing, but the URL will also contain the name "squidoo" in it also. Some people are turned off by this, but it's all for free and is extremely simple to learn to use. These two characteristics in my mind make it a no-brainer, especially for us newbies over sites requiring you to learn to use software for webpage design. You choose and pre-stage what squidoo calls "modules" on the side of the webpage in whatever vertical order you want and then go to the middle of the page and fill them in. Some are text modules, which you type into just like a word processor and others are for things like uploading images or graphics supplied on the site. In one afternoon you can master webpage building at squidoo. It's even kind of fun.

Weebly is also free, but the software for webpage design (also a WYSIWYG type of editor) is quite different from squidoo. It's actually a little more advanced, in my opinion, and I don't mean that in a techie way. You just have more options. You can even choose a web template to design your site around, which can look downright professional. Where you sort of pre-build the layout in squidoo, at weebly you build as you go, dragging in modules similar to squidoo, then adding content. You not only can add images and graphics but also audio and YouTube footage. It's a little quirky to start in that the modules tend to jump on the page as you drag them down, but you get used to it. One discovery I made quite by accident was that I completely built a site without a template. Looking a little bland, I decided to check out the array of templates weebly offers. I clicked on the button and a string of thumbnail templates appeared at the top of the page. Not really knowing what I was doing, I just rolled my cursor over the first one and in a split second it appeared on my webpage in full scale, rearranging the page slightly to fit in all my content. It was suddenly beautiful, I thought, looking at my creation. It looked like a real designer had done it with some of that fancy software for webpage design. I kept trying other templates in this fashion until I found the one I wanted and clicked to select it. Done!

There are other WYSIWYG (I pronounce it wizzie-wig just for fun) websites out there, but for pure ease of use starting out, I would stay away from trying to learn to use more difficult software for webpage design and go with one of these until you gain more confidence.

Web Page Design

Web page design involves the design of pages that are published on the World Wide Web. Web page design includes not only the aesthetics aspects but also includes navigational and user interface aspects of design. Web pages must be designed keeping in mind the goals of the organization for whom the site is being designed. The process of Web page design begins by gathering all the information, understanding the objectives to be achieved and determining the target audience. The type of browsers visitors use, the kind of Internet connections used to visit your site and the computers used are other important design factors. A site designed for broadband users can be graphics intensive compared to a site designed for dial-up users who typically use a slower Internet connection.

Once the design specifications have been decided, it is best to start planning the navigation structure and content of the Web pages. The process of Web design often involves creation of a mockup, which provides an idea of the layout of the Web page. Once the mockup is finalized the graphics are created and the coding of the Web page can be done using a mark up language such as hypertext markup language, or HTML.

HTML allows creation of Web pages that can be viewed using a Web browser. HTML allows the precise placement of text and images and enables navigation through the use of hyperlinks. Several WYSIWYG (What you see if what you get) HMTL editors are available to help create Web pages. Using these HTML editors, a designer can create Web pages without having to learn actual html coding. Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia DreamWeaver are two of the most popular and powerful HTML editors.

Designers use image editing software applications to create the graphics for a Web site. Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks are two of the most popular image editing applications.

Web Page Design Templates

Web page design templates come in all shapes and sizes, you can buy them one at a time or in large groups, you can even find free web page design templates on the internet. Whatever your reason, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

First and foremost, you must choose web page design templates that looks professional, nothing will doom your page more than to use a horrible looking template. Another thing to consider is this, if the web page template looks bad then chances are you will have issues when you try and use it.

One of the next things we need to consider is, how easy is it to manipulate. Depending on the type of HTML editor you are using the web page design templates you are trying to use could be very easy to work with or downright impossible. If you have a HTML editor like Dreamweaver or Design Dashboard and you know how to use them then you shouldn't have any problems with your web page design templates.

Before I go on lets talk about HTML editors, If you are new to web page design then I would highly recommend you start out with an HTML editor that provides step by step process to build your web page. The reason for this is quite simple, build a web page from scratch can be quite a daunting task, with a software program that walks you through the process step by step you will be able to spend more time on how your page looks instead of trying to fix HTML code.

For those that are more experienced building web pages then you already have the HTML editor that works for you and you're comfortable with. I wont reveal which ones I use in this article but I do have 3 different programs I use. One I use to create pages from scratch, one I use to fix web pages that are messed up and the third one I use is one of the step by step software programs I spoke of earlier, that I use for pages that are not overly involved, it allows me to take web page design templates and turn them into a professional looking web page in just a couple hours, it's a great time saver.

Back to web page design templates, consider the purpose for the templates before you jump on the internet and buy...are you using it for a Google AdSense page, or is it for a product or service you are selling, maybe it's just a simple home page for you and your family, whatever make sure you find the proper web page design templates to fit your needs.

For instance, if you are building Google AdSense pages then ones you see being promoted by the clan of internet marketers have more than likely been used by several thousand people already. So start you search a little bit deeper in the search pages to find web page design templates that others aren't using.

If you're building an entire web site to sell your product or service then you may want to have a professional build you a couple of web page design templates than you can modify easily. They are not to expensive and by going this route you almost certainly be guaranteed that your template is unique.

What decide when searching for you web page design templates make sure they are professional looking, will do what you want them to do and that you can easily work with them.

Not All Web Page Design Software is Easy to Use

When making a decision on buying web page design software, you know that evaluating different packages can take forever. Some people spend months or even years trying to decide on one package that fits all their needs and their budget, too. Others choose one piece of software and stick with it, simply because that is all they know and they are too frightened to try another. You do need to take your time when choosing software, but by reading reviews and talking to other web page designers, you should be able to make a decision fairly quickly.

Of course not all web page design software works in the same way. Some packages are more appropriate for beginners and have limited functionality. Other pieces of software are so advanced that only a Ph.D. can use them. The trick is to find one piece of software that will be easy to use when it is new, but also advanced enough that you can continue learning and growing with it. You don't want to be limited by your software!

One piece of software that is liked by experts and those new to computers is XSitePro. It has incredible functionality, yet is easy for newbies. It is more than just a web page design tool. It allows you to create and manage large web sites with multiple pages, advertising, content management, and blogs. It is a web page design software that most experts agree is appropriate for users of all levels. When delving into the Internet and building your own website, either for the first time or if it isn't your first site, make sure you have a piece of software that works for you, and not against you!

Web Page Design Ideas - How to Use Graphics Creatively

First, a caution: don't overload your website with flashing images, loads of different fonts (or font sizes or font colors) and text swooping in from all sides. Keep your web site design simple, and never lose sight of what you want your visitors to do when they arrive.

With that said, images can quickly spruce up an unappealing website. This is true even if you do nothing more than add an image to your header and one to footer, and another to break up the monotony of your text. But the proper use of graphics can add even more appeal to your pages. Here are some quick web page design ideas focusing on graphics:

1. Swap Images - when your cursor passes over one web object, such as a button, it triggers the swapping of another graphic. For example, if I pass my cursor over a button that says Spain, when the current graphic is Canada, then a Spain graphic would replace the Canada graphic as long as my cursor remains over the Spain button. This is done using a simple JavaScript, and can be quite powerful when used properly.

2. Rollovers - are just another form of a swap image. In this case, a primary image changes to a secondary image when the cursor passes over the image link. Generally, when the cursor moves off the image, it reverts back to the primary image. Using our previous example, if your cursor passes over a blue Spain image button, it changes to a red button with a different Spain image. Again, this is accomplished with a simple JavaScript. Rollovers add a nice touch as long as you don't overdo them or create a page that takes forever to load.

3. Background Images - with a little imagination you can frame your page with images. All you have to do is add columns or rows or a combination of the two to your main table and fill them with appropriate background images. For example, if your web site is about organic gardening, you might add a left-hand column and a bottom row to your table. In the bottom row, you can use a bean plant as the background image, having it begin to grow vertically at the left corner, where the left-hand column's background image is a continuation of the plant growing up the side of the web page.

4. White Space - often referred to as negative space, is simply the open space between the graphic elements and text elements on your website. This includes the space between words and paragraphs, around images, etc. The reason it's important to mention here is simple: white space not only gives your web pages a cleaner look, it makes the experience of reading the content much easier on the eyes. Don't overlook this important element of web page design.

There's no question we'd all like to have a great looking website, and hopefully these web page design ideas have been helpful. However, the most important thing to remember with good web site design is this: less is better. Don't overdo your graphics. Add them to your website layout as complementary elements, not as attention grabbers. A little restraint goes a long way.

This program works best in conjunction with a standard blogging site, such as Blogger or WordPress. If you want to host your own blog, this system isn't easily compatible with that.

Obviously, more programs are written for Windows systems. However, with the rise in popularity of Mac systems, there are more options than ever. Also, Mac programs are usually very well written.

So, the choice is yours. The main point is to test and get something you're comfortable using and create your new website.

Cheap Web Page Design Software - Design Doesn't Have to Be Costly

The perfect place to be looking for information, items, products, and services would be the web. There are practically a lot of various products that you can find in the web, so much so that putting a product in the web has become a necessity already. If businesses and services would want people to patronize their products, then they should be able to give everybody limitless access to their products through the web.

Most people are very keen in details about their business, company, and service that they have become very particular with advertising specifications. It is due to this line of thinking that these people would rather design their pages themselves than creating customized ones over the web. However, it is an important consideration to be able to find cheap web page design software to minimize initial costs for starting out a business. This is not difficult though, because there is a lot of cheap software that are available in the web.

A cheap web page design software is basically a relatively affordable software used for web page design applications and maintenance. Although most of the software is quiet expensive, there are some that have the basic features for minimal costs and minimal future outlay for upgrades. For businesses that are just starting out, web page design software that contains the basic requirements for creating a web site would be economically sufficient. The most important thing is to enable people to access your products at any time of the day through your website.

Successful Dental Web Sites - A Look at Visitor Usability in Dental Web Page Design

The usability of dental web sites can be one of the most complex yet most important aspects of a successful dental web page design. You can offer the best dental services in the world at no cost, but if online visitors can't get your site to work well enough to find what they need, it isn't going to help. Even someone brand new to your site needs to be able to find everything quickly and easily so they don't have to jump through hoops to find the information they need.

If a dental web page design takes too much time to load, online visitors will click the back button to look for other dental web sites that load faster. For those with dial-up and slow connections, this can cause their browser/computer to crash. Patients who experience this will likely stay away from your site completely.

While the placement of code in the site can improve its load time, the contents included in your online practice will also have an impact on the required load time. Large flash files, detailed images, and audio all increase the time needed for a computer to load your site. This doesn't mean you can't have any of these components, you just need to use them wisely.

Dental web sites, particularly those with large amounts of content, need to have easy to use navigation. Buttons in an uncommon place may look nice in your design, but consider the fact that this will cause visitors to have to search for what they need. Being too large or too close together may also cause issues for those attempting to navigate your dental web page design. Finally, consider the color of the buttons or text. It should fit in with the color scheme, but stand out enough so that visitors can find and read them easily. You can wander away from tradition, but keep these things in mind as you work with your designer.

Clarity And Brevity

Online visitors rarely read. Most of them skim over the content, reading the first line and then picking up tidbits that standout from there. Many stop reading before they reach the end of the content. If you have an important link you want visitors to find, try to keep it above the fold or mid-point of the page. You will also find that making the link stand out using color and font will help significantly as well.

The location of content on your page influences the success of dental web sites. After several studies that focused on tracking the eye movement of site visitors, experts found that a majority of clients notice the upper left-hand quadrant most often. The farther away from that point, the less noticeable items became.

Usability is as much about dental web page design as it is about user behavior. Only when dental web sites find the ideal balance between comfortable usability and the need to stand out from competitors will a website become truly successful.

Web Page Design Software - Tips On Selecting The Most Effective, And Best Value

Web Page Design Software - How do you uncover the mysteries of HTML, without becoming a computer nerd?!

Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the language of the World Wide Web and it's the secret key to making your own web site. While it's possible to do HTML in a text editor like Notepad, doing so is time consuming, tedious and frustrating, as you end up tweaking things left and right trying to make them all fit.

Professional Web Page Design Software tries to put all of the hand coding of HTML behind a slick and shiny interface, with tools for cascading style sheets, conditional formatting, interactive Javascript roll-overs and integration of flash and multimedia. In their efforts to compete with one another, the people who write and sell professional web design software have forgotten that most of the people who do this are small business owners and really don't need 95% of what their expensive software can do.

What you really need in web page design software is something that lets you see what your web page is going to look like as you compose it, has tools for adding scripting and interactivity and allows you to make the important decisions without bogging you down in details or constraining your choices.

Recently there have been some excellent advances to the conundrum of "Enough to get the job done, but doesn't require a degree from MIT to use" in the field of web page design software. One I recommend walks you through a 6 step process to making your web site, with each step taking 20 to 30 minutes. It gives plenty of options and teaches you the why's behind the options it has to make your web site work better as a revenue generating tool.

Top Tips on Web Page Designing

Web page designing is an important aspect of internet marketing. A nice and reader friendly web page design helps in attracting people and transforming them into potential customers. It is quite easy for something to go wrong in this aspect but still easier if a few basic things are kept in mind while doing the designing and web copywriting of the website's write up.

When designing the web page make sure to keep the approach and the web copywriting simple and uncluttered. A cluttered and fuss free web page is not only easy on the eye, but easy to navigate as well.

Keep the pages and the write up short and simple. Get your message across to the readers simply and in the first attempt as a majority of users are so impatient that if you cannot catch their attention from the very beginning, the chances are that they will avoid reading up the entire web copywriting midway and look somewhere else.

Usage of tables, charts and lists go a long way in making web pages attractive. They are not only easy to make on your part instead of trying to form long and winding sentences trying to communicate what you want, but they prove to be easy for the surfer or user to read, understand and grasp the important points as well. In fact, the addition of tables improves the overall look of the website as well.

While putting in images, use the ones which are small and to the point. Larger images take a lot of time in uploading and people may get irritated or put off by the constant scrolling of the images that has to be done.

Do not include too many texts and too elaborate a write up. Keep the design simple and precise, it proves to be of a greater appeal.

The web pages should have plenty of contact information so that people reading it may be assured that in case of any emergency their calls will not go unheard. It will also help instilling trust. In fact, if the web site is interactive, it is an added bonus as the reader will think that their complaints and suggestions will be heard and followed by the company and their trust will increase.

Select the keywords with care and include the appropriate amount in the web page. This helps in attracting the attention of search engines and generates a good amount of traffic for the website. However, the amount needs to be calculated and inserted with precision as too little or too much will be harmful.

Something else which needs to be maintained with care is the spelling and grammar of the write up. Incorrect spellings and improper usage of language might put the reader off and even make you seem incompetent.

Sorts of Web Page Design

Getting a great web page design and style is a crucial facet of a website. Some web designs may look basic but typically the simple designs would be the most powerful. Depending on your nature of work, exclusive idea, specialist image and target audience, an excellent internet page design plays a crucial function in having a superb impression of what your company is.

You will find generally 3 diverse varieties of internet page design and style

1. Static Internet site Style - may be the simplest web page layout, which showcases your product or company online. It is normally built with a HTML editor like Dreamweaver and cannot be maintained by a non-technical individual. For this cause they may be falling out of favour and it is normally pretty rare today to get an internet site to be static, specifically for little organization owners. For these individuals keeping their internet site is critical so a dynamic internet site is required.

2. Dynamic Web site Style - will be the kind of web page design that allows the user to sustain the content material about the website. Easy examples are blogs or little business web sites according to WordPress but you can find also a lot more complex examples like on-line databases, membership, private contents, collaborative contents, e-businesses, resume or task solutions, shopping on the internet and considerably much more. Essentially anything that could shop data that is maintained by way of the website itself is dynamic. This really is how most websites these days are developed. Moreover, a Dynamic Web site Style is a lot more helpful in terms of interacting together with your page visitor. It's also mostly personalized to give personalization to the client.

3. Flash Internet site Design and style - previously Flash was used routinely to produce internet sites more interactive and give them a little of a visual edge. Even so on account of concerns with search engines not being able to read the content material of websites and also users who want quick access to information, these internet sites have generally fallen out of favor.

These aren't the only problems nevertheless. Flash web sites are also usually not dynamic which means they need to be maintained by a programmer and Flash programmers are a lot more specialized than basic web programmers.

Finally the genuine deal breaker is flash doesn't display on a whole lot of mobile devices, namely Apple merchandise iPhone and iPad. Given the recognition of these devices, flash is normally not regarded as something really worth like within the typical little business website.

They also often be slower to load and more challenging to track user interaction.

I hope this has given you a little of a rundown from the main kinds of net page layout.

Web Page Design Tips - Easy and Effective Tools

One of the best web page design tips I can give you would be to use tools that are simple to use as well as effective. There is not a lot you can do with a complicated tool if you are confused by it. It doesn't matter what tool it is; if you can't make it work its useless! That holds true for anything even internet tools.

One of the easiest web design tools out there is WordPress. This program is available on the internet in many different versions. Some of the newer versions have become even easier to use than what the older ones were. There is even a WordPress version that is designed specifically for multi-users. Or in this case multi-pages. It allows you to access one control panel that you can tweak or monitor all your pages on. This eliminates all the hassles of having to log into different accounts to access different pages.

However, the easiest version of WordPress I have ever used is WordPress Express. This version is available at WA and can have your blog up on the internet in just minutes. With this program you do not really need any web page design tips at all. You only have a few steps to follow. All you need is a domain name and web hosting. You fill in that information and then you pick which template you want to use for your page. There are hundreds to choose from and there is some information about the types under the picture for each. This allows you to read through it and actually pick a template that looks good but can function easily for you as well. Then you just review your choices and information and then create. Wait about ten minutes and your page is up on the web and ready for you to customize.

Don't get too stressed about customizing the page. The only one of the web page design tips you need for this is to follow the tutorials you will find at the bottom of the create page when you are using WordPress Express. There is one specifically for customizing the page and even adding pages as well. You will even find one that will allow you to optimize your page for the search engines too. This is a handy tool and extremely easy to access and use. You cannot go wrong with this program. It's too easy to mess up!

The Key Elements of Web Page Design That Make It More Effective

The design of the web page determines how effective the website is going to be. If the design is not up to the mark, it's going to reflect in the popularity of the website. An unpopular website is an ineffective website. It has the kind of design that has proven to be extremely unsuccessful.

So, what are the key elements that ensure that the web page design is effective?

Good visuals

Of course, great visuals will definitely be better, but you must focus on sensible and impressive visuals. Whether they are good or great will be determined by the success of the website. So, the best way to go about it would be to use visuals after a great deal of forethought. You must use visuals that are in line with the message of your website. One look at the visuals and the visitors must understand what your website is all about. The visuals must be such that they complement the message of the website.

Avoiding graphic distractions

Some designers are prone to adding a number of graphic embellishments to web page design. But this is what is called 'designing suicide'. You can use visual markers occasionally and use them sparingly, but crowding a web page with a series of visual embellishments is just going to confuse rather than impress. You might want to offer something that is out-of-the-box, but all such embellishments will do is they will distract the visitor from the real purpose of the website.

Well Designed User Interface

What's a well-designed user interface? It's the kind of user interface that has been designed keeping in mind the target audience and the purpose of the website. One of the core elements of a well-designed user interface is the navigation. It should be convenient and such that users don't think about how to go to a particular page. More importantly, it's a user interface that makes or breaks a site. Make sure that your user interface conveys the site's message, includes a call-to-action and can be easily understood by the user.

These three elements are not the be all and end all of web page design. But, if you want to ensure the design of your web pages is effective and can attract website visitors, you can begin by keeping these key elements in mind. As you go along, you will find many other elements that will help you design an effective web page.

Site coding is something that is entirely different and you'll find that it can take a bit for dedicated programmers and website designers to go from a simple design to a full functional, interactive web page!

You'll find that by working through the interface that has been provided to you through your web page designer software that you'll only see the effects of the code, and that the code will stay hidden unless you want to see it

Can you use a word processor?

When you are looking at most advanced web page editors out there, you will find that they have a very strong resemblance to text editors. All you need to know about putting together a web page is that you are looking at a document that is made for viewing on the web. With familiar elements like font, alignment, images and tables, you'll find that if you have spent some time with a basic word processor that you can make this work!

Using templates to start

What do you do if you are just looking for something basic to start off with? Lots of people find that just using the basic coding to make a basic layout is all that they need. You'll find that you can get templates that act as great placeholders, and you'll be able to create a page to this specification quite easily. All of the complex coding has already be done for you. This can save you a lot of time and help you make a lot of great pages.

Great learning cove

As you get better at making websites, you are going to start wanting to branch out. You'll find that one of the great benefits of using web page designer software is that it is great for coders to practice their coding through dedicate view modes. You can code in a web page designer because you can take advantage of error correction and online help. 3 Web Page Design Basics That You Should Never Forget

Website design sounds intimidating, doesn't it? Well, it doesn't have to be intimidating. In fact, just a few web page design basics should be enough to get you on your way to building a great web site of your own.

Here are some basics to keep in mind:

1. Never lose sight of your visitor and the goal of your website. What does this mean? It easy to get caught up in all the fancy things you can do with a web page. You can add text that slides in from one side or the other. You can add flashing graphics. You can add banners across the top and down both sides. You can highlight text, bold text, use different colors of text, even add flashing text.

But here's the catch ... just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

So before you even think about starting your web page design, you need to have a clear picture of what you want your visitor to do when he arrives on your site. Are you trying to encourage him to click on an AdSense ad? Are you trying to sell him a product? Are you trying to get him to sign up for your list? What do you want him to do?

Your web page should be designed with this purpose in mind.

2. Less is better. The more information, banners, links, flashing images, videos, etc. that you incorporate into your web site, the less likely your visitor will know what to do when he arrives there. In fact, most visitors to your website will stay less than 10 seconds. They'll glance at the page, decide whether or not you're providing what they're looking for, and if not, they'll leave.

So make it easy for your visitors. Place the essential material above the fold (this refers to the space they'll see without ever having to scroll down). Make it so they'll see what you want them to see first. This means you'll want to have your AdSense ads above the content of your article if you're trying to encourage your visitors to click on AdSense. It means you'll want to have a strong headline at the top of the page if you're trying to sell a product. You get the point. Focus your webpage designs around the goal of the page.

3. Use plenty of white space. It doesn't cost you more money if you use more space for your web page. So there's no reason to cram all your text together in a small space. Your visitors won't read a word if it's unappealing and hard on the eyes. Use plenty of white space to help make the reading of your content easy and effortless.

If you keep these three web page design basics in mind before building your website, you'll be well on your way to producing web pages that accomplish exactly what you want them to accomplish. The easiest way to accomplish this is by looking at your design from the eye of your visitor instead of looking at it from the eye of the website developer.

Your Easy Web Page Design Software Must Include These

Whether you're new to the Internet and eager to set up your very first website, or you've been online for awhile and haven't found the right website design software for what you want to do, or you're an Internet marketer who hates the idea of having to design your own web site, easy web page design software is a must.

But what should you look for in a good web site design program?

These are the essentials:

1. It must be WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). You don't want to spend your time and money trying to learn all the little nuances of HTML coding, how to build tables, how to insert images, how to designate your font and font size, etc. The whole idea of easy web page design software is to minimize your effort while still producing a profession website.

2. At the very least, it must include a manual, though preferably it should also include a series of video tutorials so you can get up and running in the shortest amount of time. And in this same vein, you don't want a web design tool that's cost prohibitive or has such a steep learning curve that you end up spending weeks or months learning how to use it.

3. It should allow you to publish your entire site (or a single page or a group of pages) to your web server with little effort. The term "publish" here refers to uploading your HTML files to the Internet. This saves you the trouble of having to purchase an additional FTP program to upload your files.

4. It should allow you to easily incorporate forms into your web pages. Forms can be a little intimidating if you've never done one before. So look for web site design software that includes a form module to make this process faster and easier.

5. It should come with free starter templates to provide you with a foundation to build upon if you prefer not to build your website from scratch. These should be fully customizable so you can make them your own, and they should be top quality, professional-looking templates.

Building your own website doesn't have to be a nightmare. The web design tools that are available today are more sophisticated than ever. They're also better priced and less complicated. So spending the time it takes to find top notch easy web page design software will definitely be worth your while in the long run.

The Advantages of Web Page Design

One of the most important aspects in the creation of a web site is web page design. A web site consists of a number of different web pages linked together through hyperlinks. Web site size varies significantly, with some web sites consisting of an index page and two or three pages linked to it, while others consist of many different levels of organization and hundreds of pages.

An example of this is blogging web sites. These have a home page, which generally has links to the most recent posts as well as categories of posts, links to information about the author, forms for leaving comments and often links to external sites. For many blogs, this will result in hundreds of distinct pages.

There are many different aspects to web page design. One of these is the background image. Some web pages use a detailed image behind the text. This can make it very difficult to read what is written on the page, as well as making it confusing to follow the layout of the site. Effective web pages use a simple background, often one that is a single color or a color gradient.

Additionally, a header image may be used, which often contains the site logo. This is used to draw the reader's attention to the top of the site, which generally contains the most important information, such as the name of the site and what it hopes to accomplish. A design such as this is clean and organized, which helps the viewer to understand what the purpose of the site is, and what parts are relevant to what they desire.

When building a web site, the overall image that the site is to represent needs to be carefully considered. Each web page could contain completely different formatting, colors, and backgrounds, but if this is done the reader tends to not realize that all the pages are interconnected. Thus, there is generally a theme that runs throughout all of the web pages for a given site.

Most common is the template. This is where each webpage uses the same template or a similar one. For example, many websites keep the same sidebars and headers for each page within the site and change the content to be specific to that page. This allows for easy navigation throughout the site.

Other sites change the formatting from page to page, but keep some consistent elements, such as always using the same colors, logos and backgrounds. The advantage of this is that it allows for much more flexibility in the content that is placed on pages, which can be important for presenting information. Generally, if you hire someone to design a web site, template based methods are much cheaper than those that use different layouts on each page, as the coding is more complicated for the latter.

How you design your web site and the individual web pages entirely depends on what you are trying to accomplish and who your audience is. It is important to consider this in depth before you decide how you will go about this task. No matter what the aim of the site, web page design is a crucial factor in determining the overall effectiveness of your site.

What Makes a Good Web Page Design? Some Tips on Making Yours Stand Out!

Whether you're creating a brand new web page design, or revamping your current site, some of your major objectives are to create an easily navigated web page, a good looking page with a balanced eye-catching composition - in short, a good web page design!

So, how do you measure the attributes of good web page design? There are several schools of thought here, with much depending on your type of business. If your site provides financial information and services, a corporate look may be what you need. If you sell artwork, a dramatic, artistic backdrop may serve your sense of a good web page design. A website featuring designer style products should integrate that designer look and feel. The interior designer might opt for a sophisticated or homey country feel, or whatever style showcases their offerings best. When you think of your website, it's analogous to a store front or shop window. You want your site to be inviting, encouraging visitors to take a closer look and come inside.

In a nutshell, this is what you're aiming for in creating a good web page design. If you were going to a stockbroker's office, you probably wouldn't expect frilly curtains and window displays of figurines, right? On the other hand, this style of decorating would suit a gift shop nicely. A major signature of a good website design is that it's appropriate to your business. That first impression is where you can set your visitor's expectations, for better or worse.

While you want your web page design to be unique and memorable, you'll still want to conform to certain elements of composition. If you try to be too different, this can be confusing to your visitors.

The basic page layout should include left and right margins, where you can place your navigation menu, newsletter subscription boxes and other such free offers. These are typically placed on the left hand margin, while ads usually appear on the right. The top one quarter of each page, before the 'fold' might be occupied with a photo, or perhaps a banner ad, although the latest trend is to run banner ads vertically, in the right margin of the page. Research has shown that the across the top banner ads tend to annoy visitors, as they're too much in-your-face and lack subtlety. Much like a huge 'SALE!' banner plastered across a storefront window, this can invoke a "What, are they going out of business?" response from your visitors. A beautiful photo, along with your company logo at the top left margin, is far more engaging.

If you want to include a search box, put it where people expect to find it - near the top right hand margin and below your photo, artwork or whatever takes up the top quarter of the page.

Keeping your composition and layout within the parameters of the norm is another important signature of good web page design.

The use of Flash is still controversial. While the spiders have learned to deal with Flash displays, there are still some logistical problems that may affect how often and how well the spiders visit that page. With Google searches accounting for the majority, about three-quarters, of all searches, check the Google site for specifics on making those pages Google-friendly.

Aside from the points outlined above, the rest is all art. A good web page design is above all, attractive and functions as it should. This is what keeps your visitors browsing your site, instead of surfing away!

Web Page Design And What You Need To Know!

Powerful web page design can be the main element step to a small business's popularity on the net. Though their products and solutions may be the best in the marketplace, should they be improperly presented, they can be useless.

Professionals in the industry participate in thorough web design training to perfect the effective techniques of proper website design. There are several key components to creating a website that may bring in individuals and boost related website traffic. A number of the key techniques taught in quality webmaster classes include:

• Simpleness - Although it may be more pleasurable to generate flamboyant and intricate webpages with flash elements, sounds and colors, typically, web developers live and eat the idea that simple really is far better. Individuals will get sidetracked by a website that has too much going on, and it can slow things down so much that they will switch to a different web site.

• User friendliness - Simplicity is something that specifically relates to usability. Web design classes teach that a simple web page is going to produce much more buyer website traffic because site visitors don't have to think at anything. Consumers don't want to need to work at things, if your web site is apparent and self-explanatory it'll make site visitors much more comfortable.

• Capture attention - Correlating with user friendliness, offering a visitor an action plan will concentrate their attention on what is essential. To get a customer to simply click a specific link, ensure it is simple for their eyes to focus on it. By offering fewer potential distractions, site visitors will see what exactly is most important on a offered web page.

• Powerful writing - It is crucial for web design specialists to integrate successful advertising copy into their web site design. Making short, bold and targeted statements will attract the reader. Lengthy paragraphs with complicated statements or sector jargon will be too difficult for a consumer to digest.

• Help to make white space work - Yet another thing web designers learn in web design programs is that white space isn't a negative thing. It allows a visitor's eye to rest and not become overwhelmed by pictures and colours. While you won't want to have too much white space, it is in reality an effective web page design technique.

• Screening - Essentially the most important way to appreciate the usefulness of a web page is to test it in early stages and frequently. By screening things like the amount of site visitors come to the web site daily, the length of time they remain on the web page, and how many click on essential links, it is better to understand changes that have to be implemented.

A Simple Web Page Design Tutorial You Can Take to the Bank

There are a lot of small businesses today that are reaching to the Internet for advertising purposes. If you are one of these small businesses or you are just looking to start advertising on the Internet, this brief web page design tutorial will help you get started on the right foot to making money on the Internet. In this web page design tutorial we are going to go over some highlights to making a web page that is not only user friendly but will also get listed in the first position with no money involved for the keyword you are looking for.

Before we even start this web page design tutorial, the first step to this procedure is definitely research. When making a website you have to first understand a few things about why you are doing the web page to begin with. Some questions to ask yourself are, am I looking for an email list, and I looking to sell something, or even am I looking to just get a word out about an upcoming product I will have for sale in the future? Once you have figured this out now you have to fully understand your audience you are making this web site for. Some things to consider about your audience is what is the person thinking, why is he or she reluctant to buy, how can this product improve their life, what are some selling features (apply customer wants), and possibly are there any risks involved?

The next part of our web page design tutorial is to maintain a consistent flow of relevancy. Three topics that I can think of off the top of my head are keyword density, lay out, and flow of a buying cycle. When a potential customer tries to find some thing on the Internet they have to type in a word or sentence in the search query box, this is called a "keyword." If you would like to be listed under such a keyword suggest you have that keyword in your website, as well it should make up about 5% of your content. This is known as "Keyword Density." The layout of your website should be smooth and not hopping all over the place. Start the page with the questions answered for your customer as stated in the beginning of this web page design tutorial, then possibly finish with your personal thoughts of your product, or even your customers thoughts, these are called "testimonials."

The content for your web page design tutorial goes like this to keep it simple. The paragraphs about the product you have should be short. The average attention span of a web surfer is very limited, so shorter is better. These paragraphs should be separated by "headers." The headers should state what each paragraph is about so your visitor can scan your site quickly for the information they are looking for. Then get to the bottom line which are your "Call To Action Phrases." Some examples of these are Click Here If..., or Learn How To Get.... to name a few.

The last but most important thing to your web page design tutorial is relevancy. From the beginning keywords to the Call To Action Phrases you have to be relevant to what your audience is looking for or you will lose them. By this I mean if your customer is looking for skate boards then it should be in some form in your keyword, your main title to your website, in your main headers for your paragraphs, and possibly even in your Call To Action Phrases. This is how you get a customer to stay and feel like he or she has found the information they have been looking for, which will make them more inclined to accept your offer.

In this web page design tutorial we went over some main topics to getting a website to be user friendly with a flow of a buying cycle that will lead to a sale almost every time. I hope this web page design tutorial was helpful to you and as well I have many other free tips for you if you would like to click on one of the links below.

Minimalist Web Page Design - Simple Yet Beautiful

In short Socrates wanted to convey that "less could be more". This axiom is truer in today's digital world where people spend most of their time shopping, networking or simply surfing various websites on the World Wide Web. But with millions of websites online, creating unique & affordable web page design has become an increasingly difficult task.

Clutter has encroached upon our lives. It's everywhere on the web and the only way to minimize clutter is to embrace minimalism. Website minimalism is a style characterized by least density and more simplicity. Web site design projects attempting the minimalistic website design approach involves the use of least amount of images, colors etc. The point is to understand the specific needs of your customer/visitor to create an affordable web page design that is functional and at the same time is able to convey the intended message. But it's not everybody's cup of tea. The web site design designers find it hard to keep out the excesses. Keeping a website simple is the most difficult task for them. Below are some of the principles of minimalism which could help you to simplify your web site designs.

• Content is the King. The basic idea behind having a minimalistic look for a website is to bring the content to the forefront. If a page has too many images or graphic elements then it could confuse the visitor. The minimalistic approach to the Web site design projects puts the focus forthrightly on the content.

• Use of graphics and colors. Minimalistic approach doesn't forbid the use of graphic or colors for online web designing projects. It just implies that too much of anything will butcher the purpose of your website. Graphics or the color elements must add value to what is being showcased.

• Use of white space. A clean white background improves the readability of a website. It makes the visitor more comfortable and balances the other colorful element that would be on the page.

• Font Size. Minimal design doesn't mean using fonts that are too small. The font size must be optimized for readability. Also using too many font types could make the page look unattractive.

In the end, designers must realize that minimalism is the means and not the end. Online web designing projects are all about having a user centric approach with more time spent on understanding the user needs rather than struggling on the design table.
